About the spot
Atins sits where the Preguiças river meets the sea, on the edge of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. The scenery is made of white dunes and freshwater lagoons that form during the rainy season.
The wind blows strong on the coast, and the river offers flat sections. Because of the distances and the dune logistics, it's a destination for those who already ride independently — and the kite crossing through the Lençóis is one of the most memorable experiences in the country.
