Cabarete, Caribbean
Thermal wind in the northern hemisphere winter
About the spot
Cabarete is one of the best-known spots in the Caribbean. The wind is thermal: it starts blowing late in the morning, when the warm air over land rises and pulls in air from the sea, and stays side-shore through the afternoon.
Because the pattern is different from Northeast Brazil, the season is the opposite: December to April, when Brazil's wind is at its weakest. It's our window for anyone who wants to ride in the northern hemisphere winter.
Highlights
- Side-shore thermal wind
- Season from December to April
- Warm water
- Full setup on the beach
